Early childhood intervention has been proven, through extensive research, to be highly effective to assist in improving learning and behaviour challenges. We aim to help the child through our neuroplasticity (neurofeedback) therapies to build their skills to participate in everyday activities, to enjoy a fulfilling life.

We also use play-based therapies/activities to reinforce the positive changes we see in our clients, where we create a co-regulation environment. That means there are play activities offered, and engagement is encouraged where the therapist follows the child’s lead for a significant period of time.

The engaging child’s behaviour is mirrored, and the therapist describes what the child is seeing and doing, and the therapist participates in what the client wanted to play with. Conducting our session this way builds rapport and cooperation to undertake the assessments required.  The office co-regulation environment can highlight the vast difference in other environments where little co-regulation is obtained. It can also highlight how the neural pathways are not yet strong enough to regulate on their own and how significant supports are required.

Feedback from our clients

When my 3 year old first presented at TDT she was quite uncoordinated, very unregulated and could barely string a few words together. Two years on and she can now speak in conversations, get jokes and is asking detailed questions. Her coordination has been developing very well and her regulation from when she first began has come a huge way.

Our son was diagnosed with ASD at the age of 3. We were devastated and were desperate to find a therapy that would help him. TD therapists were the first to give us hope for our son's future and support for me to help him. Our son was non-verbal except for a couple of words. He had never said 'Mummy' which was very hard.

Within weeks of starting the therapies, it was like a switch had been flicked in his brain and he was much more alert and no longer in his own world. He started looking at our faces when we would talk to him and he started slowly saying more words including the one I wanted to hear the most 'Mummy'!!
